OUR MISSION

Exceptional Golf. Eco-Driven. Equity-Focused.

Greenway Golf believes that golf courses should be sustainable open spaces for everyone. Our mission is to unlock the potential of golf course space by harmonizing the successful operation of our golf business with ecological stewardship and community benefit through innovative, measurable environmental practices, inclusive, results-driven social initiatives and inspired design.

Corica Park, Greenway’s flagship property in Alameda, California, is testament to our efforts to model how golf courses can be redesigned and successfully operated as places for flora, fauna and all people to flourish.

By harmonizing exceptional golf experiences, eco-driven stewardship, equity-focused programs, and sound fiscal management, our ongoing mission is to open up Corica Park—in a welcoming and inclusive manner—in service of the entire Alameda community and its visitors.

EXCEPTIONAL GOLF

By leveraging world-class design in combination with investments and improvements across Corica Park, Greenway has created a nationally recognized, award-winning golf experience for local residents and visitors alike.

  • The Corica Park Practice Facility provides an exceptional practice experience. This invaluable resource for golfers of every skill level is dedicated to bringing out the best in players and their golf games.

ECO-DRIVEN

Ecological stewardship is central to our ethos. Regenerating the natural environment honors the traditions of the game by preserving open recreational space for current and future generations.

MEASURING PERFORMANCE

We are pleased to announce our newly formed partnership with the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf, the international non-profit entirely dedicated to helping accelerate sustainability in and through golf.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Intricate irrigation networks, comprehensive water capture and recycle systems and a unique sand and drought-tolerant turf combination have significantly reduced net water usage. Innovative biochar applications are dramatically reducing chemical inputs, and Corica Park’s newest course is largely pesticide-free. Recent experiments with biodegradable waste products for natural cart path alternatives are also poised to minimize our carbon footprint.

ECOSYSTEM TRANSFORMATION

A complete renovation has transformed the formerly degraded landscape at Corica Park into a vibrant ecosystem. Newly created natural habitats are sanctuaries for plankton, fish, pollinating butterflies and more than a dozen species of birds, most of which arrived after Greenway’s complete overhaul of the 300 acres.

EQUITY-FOCUSED

We’re leveraging golf as a vehicle for change: Our hope is for the sport we love and our space to reflect the diversity of today’s world.

Corica Park Building Community.png

BUILDING COMMUNITY

Active outreach to engage local residents from long-time golfers to those who typically do not visit Corica Park re-envisions the golf courses as true community hubs. Over the last three years, we have created 1,500+ new and FREE uses of the space. Participants include East Bay youth, community organizations, schools, small businesses and nonprofits.

EXPANDING ACCESS

Inclusive programming and focus on approachable play are designed to remove the cultural and financial hurdles that limit access to golf and other outdoor recreation. The participants of our no-cost youth golf programs to date are 94% people of color, 51% female and 90% first-time golfers. Activation of space for non-golf recreation includes martial arts, yoga, soccer, running, and more.
