2025 Preview: See What's in Store for 2025

As we say good-bye to 2024, we are excited to ring in a new year and share our 2025 preview. Of course, the North Course Back 9 Opening is at the forefront of everyone's minds, but we are also excited about the many other initiatives we have planned. Read on to see what's in store for 2025! Once again, we will be sharing personal stories, expert interviews, updates, and results of our work throughout the year. Sign up for our mailing list and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to stay informed.

January-April

Monthly Preview grid, with icon and theme for January through April 2025. Grow the Game. First Fridays, North Course Grand Opening, and Commuters Tournament

In our continuing efforts to grow the game, Greenway Golf has joined the Pledge 1% global philanthropy movement. Starting in January, we will dedicate 1% of all tournament revenue to Corica Park’s Sundays On The Green Program, which introduces the game we love to junior golfers ages 10-16, completely free of charge. We are also working on special opportunities for all of you 20-somethings-stay tuned for details!

Join us on the First Friday of every month at the range for food, drink, and fun! Delicious bites, a stocked bar, lively music, and friendly competition await. Special promotions and prizes available only at these events will be featured throughout the year. Next up: First Friday Valentine's Day Edition in February. Check out our Calendar of Events for details, and see you there! Also, be on the lookout for additional food and beverage offerings later in the year.

The Back 9 of the North Course is scheduled to open to the public at the end of March. Leading up to the big day, we invite you to join us for grand opening festivities. More details will be available soon on special events for the entire community and exciting opportunities to be among the first to play the full 18.

The Alameda Commuters Golf Tournament will return in April for its 97th year with a new format. The Championship Division will feature a 54-hole, 3-day competition played on both North and South courses. Registration opens on January 15th.

May-August

Monthly Preview grid, with icon and theme for May through August 2025. Fire Tower Garden Tours, Mif Reboot, Art & Wellness, and New Collabs.

The Firetower Restoration is complete and includes a vibrant new garden designed to nourish pollinators. We will begin hosting educational garden tours in May, offering opportunities to learn more about pollinators, sustainable gardening practices, and how to create your own pollinator-friendly spaces at home. Join the Corica Park Firetower Garden email list to stay informed about tour dates and registration details.

We're proud to have some of the best greens in Northern California, and this June, we are turning our focus to the MIF for a much-needed reboot. In addition to improving the quality of the greens to match the North and the South, our dedicated grounds crew will be giving the entire par-3 course the love it deserves, including repairing fairways and fully refurbishing the tee boxes.

Efforts to reimagine Corica Park as a true community hub will continue in 2025. After expanding our reach to more than 50 new schools, small businesses, and nonprofits over the last four years, 2025 will be a year to focus on deepening relationships with our amazing community partners. Examples include engaging the Girl Scouts in golf course sustainability projects and year-round outdoor art therapy and cooking workshops offered by practitioners who participated in our Mental Health Awareness Month series last year. Inspired by the fire tower mural at our entrance, we will also create opportunities for local artists to introduce public art in parts of the facility starting in July.

We love working with the talented, mission-aligned designers we have cultivated relationships with, all bringing a fresh, new perspective to golf apparel. Starting in August, we will be launching limited-edition collaborations with some of our favorites. Stay tuned for more details so you can grab your new gear before it sells out.

September-December

Monthly Preview grid, with icon and theme for September through December 2025. South Course Revisit, Prid Scramble, Geo Certification, Wishlist.

South Course architect, the esteemed Rees Jones, is returning in September to revisit his design. Seven years since the course was completed, he will be making a few refinements and adding some yardage for all of you big hitters!

The Play With Pride 2-Person Scramble will return in October during Alameda Pride weekend. Proceeds from this tournament fundraiser benefit Ruby's Place, which provides shelter and services for homeless teens. Registration details will be available in the coming months.

New environmental initiatives will launch in the spring and fall, including welcoming a new naturalist to the Corica Park team, additional pollinator habitats, monarch butterfly monitoring, bluebird houses, and new tee markers fabricated from our own fallen trees. Follow our progress as we work to achieve the next round of GEO certification in November, the only sports-related certification program in the world to be code-compliant with internationally recognized ISEAL sustainability standards.

What is your wish list for Corica Park? Be on the lookout for opportunities to share your voice with Corica Park Open Space Project. Our Community Engagement Director, Tamara Sabella, will continue connecting with golfers and local residents for feedback. We'll tally up your votes and roll out a "fan favorite" by December. Find Tamara at the course, complete our online survey, and keep up with the latest results by viewing our scrolling suggestion box.
